Royal Rochester, Royalite, COFFEE URN, Golden Pheasant design.
The Urn stands 14 1/2” tall and almost 9 “ handle to handle. The base and lid are chrome with no pitting or discoloration.
The finish on the Body of the Urn is bright and shiny with no scratches or chips or signs of wear
The hand painted Golden Pheasant design is flawless, front and back. The chrome spout has no pits or tarnish. The beige wooden handle is without wear or damage and the spout operates as intended with no leaks. The cord appears original with no damage.
The
Urn heats well and the thermostat lever moves smoothly over the entire course of the slot for it.
The glass percolator knob on top has no chips or stains.
All the original inside coffee parts are there with no stains or damage. I cannot say it was never used. but if so it show no signs it.
There’s no flaws to the platinum/silver trim which is uncommon on most Urns. The only flaw I can find is some surface rust on the bottom plate from humidity during storage and can only be seen by turning the Urn upside down. This is a great Urn in Royalite‘ s most popular Pattern.
Royal Rochester created a line of China named Royalite.
The purpose was to provide China that could stand high oven temperatures or electric appliance temperatures and be both functional and beautiful, and do this through the ages.
During the 6+ weeks of manufacture, including three separate firings In the kiln, they created vitrified pieces in a number of shapes and sizes.
Royalite was available in two set designs: Golden Pheasant and Red Poppy, both comprised of an electric urn, creamer, sugar and tray, waffle set (electric waffle iron, mixing bowl and mixing spoon, syrup and tray), electric percolator and tea ball pot. Royalite also made a combination casserole/au gratin and tray, available to match.
A several other pieces were also man in different patterns.
There were two base tones used on some patterns, a darker ivory and a very light ivory.
These base tones can easily be mixed, but it’s better to have set pieces match.
