Offered from a local NJ estate is an antique Art Nouveau Casserole dish and frame
Made in Germany by Royal Rochester and imported and sold by LS & S (Lewis Straus & Son, NY)
It is a deep forest green round casserole, fire proof, with white interior and unglazed bottom
the lid, with vent hole has pointy finial and silver overlay decoration in scrolling motif
No chips, scratches or stains, just a bit of rubbing wear to the silvering
The holder or frame is unmarked, looks like silverplate or chromed material and is embossed all around
with Art Nouveau flower swag panels
Squared feet and handles are more deco, so perhaps transitional
Rolled rims
No cracks or tarnish but a bit of surface wear
inside diameter 7 1/2" and 4" tall at rim
